NGHS Swim and Dive Volunteer Requirements - IMPORTANT
Thank you all for attendting the meeting tonight! We can not wait to get the season started and support our swimmers and divers!
North has always been a team that has been known for doing a great job with volunteering and hosting meets! With that being said, we have some positions that require training.
It is very important that we have several people trained for the following positions. If you are interested in any of these positions, please reply to this email ASAP! The training dates are listed at the bottom of the email.
1- Meet Director - This position makes sure that everything is going according to plan during the meet, helping with minor tasks as needed and handing out water to volunteers. We need multiple people to train for this. You will be on the deck and have the best view of your swimmer!
2 - Deck Set up/ Take down - Set up the equipment including the touch pads, plungers, and speaker before the meet and take them all down and store properly. This is a very important job that needs several people to train. This is about 30 minutes before the meet and 30 minutes after the meet.
3 - Console training - This position is a meet long position that is responsible for ensuring that the touch pads, plungers, and scoreboard are working during the meet and coordinating with the computer scorer. We have 2 trained for the console. We need at least 1 or 2 more for backup.
4 - Computer Scoring - This position ensures that the times are entered correctly in the system for a report at the end of the meet. We have 1 person trained for this. We need at least 2 more for this.
We will also need timers at each meet. We will train on deck for those positions if you have never timed before.
We have a minimum of 3 positions for each family to volunteer. We definitely do not want a small number of families carrying the weight of the whole team!
